Meet Interior Designer
Today we’re starting a new Designer Spotlight Series to feature Daniela Benloulou! We’re so thrilled to share her latest project, a glamorous powder room with a mix of classic and vintage elements.
Before we dive in, we wanted to share our brief Q&A with Daniela – get to know the mind behind the design:[/su_column]
[/su_column] [/su_row] [su_row] [su_column size=”1″] Q: Tell us a little about yourself. How did you get involved in the interior design industry?
A: Since I was a young child, I was always obsessed with interiors. I would create and decorate homes for my Barbies. As an older child, I watched HGTV religiously. Years later, after undergrad, I decided to return to my passion and formally enroll in an Interior Architecture program at UCLA. I started freelancing, getting experience by designing for free for friends and family, then became a designer with Homepolish. Now I am happy to take clients on my own!
Q: What is your favorite thing about your job?
A: My favorite aspect of being a designer is having a creative outlet while meeting wonderful people!
Q: Any General Design Tips?
A: In any powder room, always try to bring in fresh flowers – even if it’s just a single stem in a tiny bud vase. Flowers are the best way to make guests feel welcome!
Q: What tips do you have for people who are remodeling their own bathroom space?
A: If you’re going for a similar, vintage look, take a look around your home or thrift stores and see if you can repurpose something. Not only does it set your space apart from most bathrooms today, it can also save you money! Having a free vanity and mirror really helped keep morale up! Also, I highly suggest splurging on lighting and faucets, the little details can really make the space.
