Becky tells us how her mother inspires her design decisions to help her clients get the most out of their home!

[/su_column] [su_column size=”2/3″] “Treat yourself!” I grew up in the typical middle class American household. My mother was an elementary school teacher and we were not rich. But often when shopping, she would find something that she just had to have. Maybe an outfit or jewelry or a purse – something silly and unnecessary. She would look in the mirror of the store with a certain sparkle in her eye and say “I think I am going to treat myself” and buy it. She has inspired me to splurge when necessary and not feel guilty about the expense. I use this thought a lot in home design. I am very budget driven to deliver the best value for our customer but I will “treat myself” to give that special look to a home.” – Becky Cantrell, West Point Homes

Seeing that I’m 24 years old, I’ve lived around the business my whole life. As life goes on I realize just how much of my daily life is influenced by the things my mom has taught me. My mother has this rare ability to be extremely professional and approachable at the same time; she always seems to connect with a client on a personal level. My mom has taught me that the connections you make within your industry are paramount to your success. She has really taken me under her wing these past few years; allowing me to flourish into the woman I am today with hopes of opening my own business.” – Jade Porter, Micamy Design Studio
