Welcome to West Point Homes

An insider’s tour of a luxurious model home

WestPointHomesEntrySeededInspire
Family-owned West Point Homes takes pride in building luxurious homes in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Typical “upgrades” – including hardwood flooring, granite countertops and dazzling lighting designs – come standard in their new neighborhood in Keller, Texas.

Becky Cantrell, whom co-founded West Point Homes with her husband, Nate, walked us through their beautiful model home in the Riverdance neighborhood.

Their typical customers are second- or third-time homeowners looking for something different than the heavy metal fixtures and finishes that tend to be prominent in their market.

According to Becky, the homes feature transitional design styling, which combines traditional aspects with updated features, such as Nickel finishes on fixtures. And she provided insight into how Progress Lighting fixtures were selected to complement her vision.

FUN FACT: Becky, who designs all the model homes, selected fixtures that featured traditional elements with modern flairs to complement transitional design styling.

ENTRYWAY – “For the entrance, we really focused on our ceiling treatments. For each room we tried to incorporate unique ceiling treatments and we thought this turned out really beautifully. We selected a series of three Inspire pendants that welcome guests and homeowners as soon as they walk through the front door. I chose these because I thought they complemented the ceiling treatment and provide an elegant, interesting visual,” said Becky.

KITCHEN – An elegant and open living space, the kitchen features a layered lighting design that combines recessed, undercabinet and pendant fixtures. According to Becky, almost all rooms include recessed lighting. “We like for our homes to be bright,” she said. The clear Seeded Glass pendants have delicate rope detailing and provide additional task lighting over the kitchen island.

LIVING ROOM – With a 10’ ceiling in the living room, Becky wanted to add a chandelier for “a wow factor.” She selected Progress Lighting’s nine-light Fortune chandelier because it provides a lot of light while making a striking statement in the spacious area.

BREAKFAST NOOK – This cozy breakfast nook features the Fortune inverted pendant. Elegantly simple, the Polished Nickel frame is accented by a wide white linen fabric shade to provide pleasing and even illumination. It also complements the chandelier in the living room that can be seen within the same sight line.

DINING ROOM – “Everyone is wowed by the chandelier over this dining room table,” said Becky. The light from the two-tiered sophisticated Caress fixture glimmers on glass and complements the barrel ceiling.
WestPointHomesBedroomEquinox
BEDROOM – The lucky little girl who claims this bedroom is sure to have sweet dreams under the Equinox pendant. This fixture was originally inspired by ancient astronomy armillary spheres!
FUN FACTS: Nate attended the United States Military Academy West Point. All floor plans are named after buildings on the campus in West Point, New York. He also served two tours in Iraq.
WestPointHomesBedroomStatus2
MASTER BEDROOM – Featuring sophisticated window casing and trim work, the master bedroom includes the Status 9-light chandelier. The linen shades on the chandelier soften the light and enhance the relaxing atmosphere.
WestPointHomesBathNisse
BATH AND VANITY – This sparkling bath and vanity area is so dazzling and inviting! Becky selected Progress Lighting’s Nisse chandelier and Status sconces for the master bath. Rather than always choosing lighting from the same collection for a space, Becky likes the flexibility of mixing and matching complementing fixtures.
WestPointHomesOfficeHarmony
HOME OFFICE – “When I saw the Harmony collection, the circular elements reminded me of thought bubbles!” This tied in perfectly with the design for the home office.

As we wrap up this stunning model home tour with West Point Homes, we hope it provides some inspiration in your next home project!
